Introduction
The evidence provided by FileWatch allows to owners of copyrighted content to successfully pursue infringements of their works conducted in P2P networks.
In the following we explain the basic principles of P2P networks and the basic principles of how Media Protector is detecting and logging illegal activities within the network. We will illustrate some of the essential features of FileWatch and its implemented mechanisms in order to record the substantial set of information relevant for evidentiary verification of the infringing acts on P2P networks.
